RISE WITH INNOVATION

WELCOME TO AIC FUEL CELL

AICPL was established in 1981. Our continuous drive for innovation has inspired us to innovate & develop various products and is considered to be the only way to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive market. We have introduced several innovative products, including some products for import substitutes. AICPL now has became an innovative technology company focused on helping our customers develop clean and sustainable energy as on of our streams of business.

To support this effort, we commercialized PAFC (Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cell), polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) components, namely Carbon Papers, catalysts, gas diffusion layers, gas diffusion electrodes, catalyst coated membranes, membrane electrode assemblies, bipolar plates, heat exchanger plates  under TOT with NMRL DRDO

COMPONENTS OF FUEL CELL

Carbon Paper

JSR is carbon composites paper which is used for PAFC & PEFC based on PAN based fibers. They offer high corrosion resistance and has excellent stability to perform under extreme conditions. Its high mechanical strength, conductivity and gas permeability are suitable for use as a Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) in fuel cell applications. Read More

Catalyst

Catalytic reactions occur in a few basic steps. First, the reactants adsorb onto the surface of the catalyst. Then, the reaction occurs. Finally, the products desorb from the surface. In general, a catalyst is “good” when the adsorption is favourable (or else the reaction won’t happen very fast), but the desorption is also favourable (or else the surface will quickly become cluttered, slowing the reaction). Bipolar Plate

JSR Graphitized Composite Bipolar Plates are highly conductive and corrosion resistant at high temperatures and offer superior properties in terms of performance in comparison to conventional graphite. These plates can be machined or moulded as per the flow field (this allows the gases to flow over the MEA) requirement on both sides to be used as bi-polar plates. Read More…

Electrodes

Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA)

The JSR Anode and Cathode Gas Diffusion Electrodes (GDE) for an electrochemical device comprise of catalyst coatedon the gas diffusion layer (GDLs). The Electrodes are PTFE treated to reduce the flooding due the operation of the fuel cell. The most commonly used catalysts include carbon supported Platinum and Platinum/Ruthenium for the best catalyst dispersion and utilization for PAFC and PEM Fuel Cells.

Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) is the heart of a PEM fuel cell. It comprises of a polymer electrode membrane, Catalyst and gas diffusion layers in the form of electrodes on both the sides. Hydrogen enters on one side (anode), where it reacts with a catalyst and separates into protons and electrons. The protons passes through the membrane to the other electrode (cathode). The protons then combine with oxygen, and with the help of a catalyst, produce water. Read More…
